Dear Tiger Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! It was a rejuvenating but busy and short but full summer! It has been nice to hear all the wonderful adventures, travels, and relaxing that our students, staff, and families experienced. Everyone seems rested and ready to get back to learning and growing!

Let me start by giving a big THANK YOU to our staff for all their hard work in preparing for the upcoming school year. Our staff spends much of their summer, thinking, preparing and planning for each student to have a successful and fun school year. Teachers have worked hard getting their classrooms organized and ready for our students. Our office staff has been working extra hard to get the school ready for a great school year, as well as our custodial staff who has been preparing our campus for the return of our Tigers!!

This school year we are focusing on increasing our parent engagement! We want you to be an active and equal team member! We are going to be having committees, events, and other activities that you can participate in to help make this year the most successful year ever. Please ensure to check your student’s new communication folder, as well as our website, and parent square for information on the events we have planned and how you can be part of the school team!

We are excited about this school year and our focus on positive behavior intervention and supports! We are rolling out our new Tiger PRIDE PBIS expectations. We are going to be teaching, modeling, and expecting all staff and students to demonstrate PRIDE this year. PRIDE is:

P – Positive

R – Respectful

I – Integrity

D – Determined

E – Empathy

We want our Tigers to demonstrate these characteristics this year and are going to focus on making sure students have a positive and enjoyable school year!

Finally, I want to say thank you to all our families for your unending support. You make such a difference in our ability to succeed at Schendel! We appreciate your feedback, your time, and all the support you give each us and every year.

Thank you again for your support, let’s have a great school year!
