Note: School volunteers, like all campus guests, are required to sign-in at the school office upon entering the school premises and sign-out when they exit the campus.
Below are the steps to be cleared to volunteer:
STEP 1:You may download a volunteer application from this page or pick up a volunteer application from a school site office.
STEP 2: Return the completed form to your student’s school office for Principal approval.
STEP 3: Human Resources will contact you to arrange a time to come in to complete a fingerprint form and take a copy of your Driver's License. You will also need to bring proof of a negative TB test.
STEP 4: You will be notified via telephone by Human Resources when your volunteer application has been approved. You will need to come pick up a Blue Clearance Card to bring to the school site on your first day. School sites will also be notified and will ask you for your Blue Clearance Card on your first day.
You must obtain a Blue Clearance Cardissued by the Human Resources Department before you can volunteer at a school site.
Any volunteer applicant whose name appears on Megan’s Law list and is required to register as a sex offender is prohibited from serving as a school volunteer in any capacity, including individuals participating in one-time activities.
