There are several types of financial aid available to students entering college. Awards include federal and state grants, state fee waivers, work-study jobs, and scholarships. Loans are now included in part of the financial aid package; but do not get confused, LOANS are not grants and have to be paid back.
You can receive multiple forms of financial aid in combination, but to be considered you must complete a FAFSA or Dream Act application between October 1st and March 2nd. The FAFSA should be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and the Dream ACT application can be completed online at https://dream.csac.ca.gov/
