The Delhi Unified School District has established the Delhi Unified School District – District Advisory Committee. Hereinafter, this district advisory committee may be referred to as the DAC.

The DAC is required to advise the district staff in meeting the needs of students who are educationally disadvantaged, English learners, and economically disadvantaged.

The district advisory committee has responsibility for the following duties: 

  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)

  • Review and approve the Consolidated Application pages related to compensatory education (Title I)

  • Provide input to the Local Education Agency (LEA) plan and LEA addendums. 

  • Carrying out all other duties assigned to the DAC by the district governing board and by state or federal law 

The district advisory committee will be composed of 11 members. 

These members will consist of at least: 

  • 1 School Advisory Council Parent representative from each school site

  •  District Office Representative

  •  1 parent representative from the District English Learners Advisory Committee (DELAC), 

  • 1 Elementary Principal or designee (selected by Superintendent’s Cabinet)  

  • 1 Secondary Principal or designee (selected by Superintendent’s Cabinet)

  • 1 Delhi Teachers Association (DTA) representative

  • 1 California State Employees Association (CSEA) – classified employee representative 

Parents shall constitute a majority of the membership of the district advisory committee and shall require that the parent representatives be elected by the parents of pupils participating in a program of compensatory education residing in the district including students who are English learners, economically disadvantaged or educationally disadvantaged.
