Delhi Students Make Academic Growth Far Exceeding Statewide Average

District’s focus on multilingual learners results in significant gains on the 2025 CA School Dashboard

Delhi, California - November 19, 2025

The results are in – Delhi Unified School District (DUSD) has shown significant gains on the California School Dashboard. At the DUSD Governing Board Meeting on November 18, District Superintendent Eric Griffin shared data from the recently released 2025 Dashboard showing improvement in multiple areas for DUSD students. While District performance may still trail in several areas, Delhi is improving at a much faster rate than the rest of the state. Statewide, the overall proficiency of students in English-Language Arts (ELA) and Math improved by roughly 5 points on the state’s performance scale over the previous year, while DUSD improved by 19.9 points in ELA  (nearly quadruple the growth rate of the state) and 14.3 points in Math (nearly triple the statewide growth rate) by comparison. Even more impressive, 57.2% of English Learners in Delhi are making progress toward English Proficiency, an increase of 11.7% over last year. Comparatively, 46.4% of English Learners across the state are making progress (with an increase of just 0.7% over 2023-2024).

The California School Dashboard is the state’s accountability instrument and shows how schools are performing on state and local indicators. The Dashboard was created to give parents and the public a complete picture of what is happening in our schools and districts and to identify those that need extra support. Delhi Unified School District had previously been eligible for Differentiated Assistance (DA), additional support provided by the County Office of Education as part of the Statewide System of Support for districts with specific areas of need based on prior year’s Dashboard indicators. Thanks to their improvement during the 2024-2025 school year, the District no longer meets eligibility criteria for this additional support, a significant accomplishment in a single school year.

At Tuesday’s Board Meeting, Superintendent Griffin celebrated the Dashboard results, saying, “These improvements are a direct reflection of the hard work and tireless commitment of the Delhi Unified staff. Our entire team–District and site leadership, teachers, and classified staff–worked hard last year to improve outcomes for students, with a special emphasis on language instruction, and those efforts are clearly reflected in this year’s Dashboard indicators. We are excited to keep up our momentum and continue to make progress. We are proud to serve the students of Delhi and will work tirelessly to ensure that each and every student is empowered to succeed.”
